Volunteer OpportunitesHere is some information to help you decided what works for you. More information about all of these events/activities will be posted throughout the school year. Carnival- Fall Fundraiser (in October this year!). Needs will be communicated throughout the year. (Everyone is asked to get involved, and each class will have volunteer needs, but planning it is the fun part!) Fun Run- Spring Fundraiser. Needs will be communicated shortly. (Help with assemblies, day of service, prizes, thanking our sponsors, etc.) Library - Help re-shelf books and organize. Help with Books Fairs throughout the year. Literacy Library & Book Fair - Help with books checked out by the teachers for the classrooms. (Training Provided) Cafeteria- (3 different areas to check for this one) -- Assist students during the lunch hour. Mostly needed for the lower grades and at the beginning of the school year but there will be needs throughout the year to fill gaps as needed. (Great for Kinder and 1st Grade Parents just starting out! Our regular Cafeteria staff is so nice to work with!) --Help serve Thanksgiving Lunch. --Help serve Christmas Lunch. Art, Music, or PE- Help teachers as needed to teach students the value of regular exercise for their mind, bodies and creative souls. Science Lab- Help classes as needed, help judge very popular Science Fair. . Hospitality & Teacher Appreciation- Help set up, provide and serve teacher lunches. Assist with Teacher Appreciation events as needed. Help with STAAR testing preparation of snacks. Knights Watch committee member- Male volunteers with Knights Watch for full or half days and events throughout the year. Environmental Programs- Earth Week, clothing drive assistance as needed. Red Ribbon Week- Assist with the organization and set up of activities (an alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign in the Fall) School Store- Assist students with purchases before class and help out with events throughout the school year. 5th Grade Programs/Kinder Help- Assist with planning and executing graduation events and help as needed throughout the school year. Workroom/Office Help- Copying, laminating, cutting and assembling for office personal and teachers. (Training provided) General Volunteer- If you are unable to commit to any of the above opportunities but would still like to be contacted as needs come up and are unable to be filled, please select this choice. |
